Foster teams with Seed Investments

Robert Foster at Capital Exchange Partners in Cape Town has joined forces with Seed Investments, with the two businesses exchanging equity as they team up to extend their reach in the advisory market.

Foster, who also heads the ASISA Hedge Fund Standing Committee, has had a long career in the markets, working previously at Alpha Asset Management and before that at Hollard Insurance.

Foster says he is seeing strong demand from intermediaries and IFAs for advisory services as they construct intermediary-advised portfolios. He says the alliance with Seed was a ‘natural fit’, offering his business important back-end and systems support.

Headed by Ian de Lange and Vincent Heys, Seed Investments is a multi-manager, multi-disciplinary business offering a full range of financial services, from fund of funds through to private-client and institutional investor advisory. Funds include The Seed Equity Fund, two flexible Regulation 28-compliant mandates and an offshore offering.

Both companies retain their own identities.

Foster says he is currently representing a range of hedge fund and long-only managers, with a view to helping intermediaries identify the right kind of talent for their end-investors’ needs.
