PRESCIENT FUND SERVICES

Prescient Fund Services (PFS) offers specialist outsourced administration and platform services to asset managers, multi-managers and other institutional investment providers. Our offering includes portfolio valuation and administration, unitisation, investor services (liability) administration, investment mandates and regulatory and compliance monitoring.

In addition, we offer reporting services across various product types including regulated structures in South Africa and Ireland:
1. South Africa: Collective Investment Schemes traditional, hedge funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs) – both indextracking and actively managed.
2. Europe: UCITS Funds and Alternative Investment Funds PFS also services clients in Namibia and Botswana. PFS is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor with an AQRATE rating of 95.57%.

Our alternative administration team, which includes our hedge fund administration team, is client-facing, innovative, solutions driven and supported by a greater fund services business.

PFS is at the forefront of important industry discussions, and regularly contributes through representation at various Association for Savings Institute of South Africa (ASISA) committees.

Dedicated alternative fund administration services
This includes portfolio administration (fund accounting), and registrar and transfer agency services (including investor reporting). PFS also offers best-of-industry regulated hedge fund accounting, including equalisation and series accounting methodologies, deemed income equalisation, distributions, Total Expense Ratio reporting and independent valuation and pricing methodologies. Reporting is based on industry standards, regulatory requirements and client needs.

Prescient Management Company (RF) (Pty) Ltd (PManco)
PManco is a South African S42 Management Company under the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, 2002 which allows co-naming platforms for investment managers looking to launch their own traditional, hedge and exchange traded funds. PManco also hosts distribution of Foreign Collective Investment Schemes in South Africa by offering Section 65 Representative Office Services, which includes pre-submission reviews, submission processes with the regulator, offering ongoing compliance support and services.  

Prescient Fund Services (Ireland) Limited (PFSI)
PFSI is an independent provider of globally competitive and flexible outsourced administration services to traditional and alternative investment funds, both Irish-regulated Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and Qualifying Investor Alternative Investment Funds (QIAIFs), operating out of Dublin, Ireland.

Risk Services
FS also offers risk services to global clients. Prescient has invested in an analytics initiative to initially offer Board Notice 52 risk reporting services based on daily NAV data, reconciled to counterparty sources positioned to support clients by providing the infrastructure and performing key control functions required to help managers meet regulatory obligations. These risk services are also offered out of Ireland via PFSI.

IT & INFRASTRUCTURE
Our global administration business uses Eagle Investment Systems (a BNY Mellon company) for portfolio administration that includes fund accounting, data management, data warehousing and performance. This system runs via a secure, private cloud hosted in Boston, US. PFS also uses T-Cube as its investor ledger record-keeping system and StatPro Portfolio Control is utilised for post-trade compliance monitoring and reporting. PFS also integrates with front-office systems for pre- and post-trade compliance, portfolio modelling, decision support and order management.
